Hematology-Oncology
Pulaski Memorial Hospital
At Pulaski Memorial Hospital, our cancer treatment program is not just about medical care but also about providing a familiar and comfortable environment for our patients. We are your local support system, here to guide you through your journey with compassion and understanding.
Patients often feel distressed after a cancer diagnosis. When you’re battling cancer, one of your most significant concerns is about being able to maintain your daily routine. The PMH outpatient chemotherapy suite enables patients to continue with their daily lives. Even if their oncologist is in another area, patients can receive their chemotherapy right here at PMH. Instead of driving potentially hours away, patients can receive their treatment locally in a comfortable setting closer to home.
Chemotherapy nurses in the PMH Oncology Unit work closely onsite with Dr. Adab and Shannon Tingle, NP, to provide high-quality care for our patients and their families throughout the treatment process. Nurses help evaluate patients before treatment begins, explain possible side effects they may experience during treatment, and instruct them on how to manage these effects. Additionally, they monitor patients’ progress throughout treatment and assist them in coping with any changes they may encounter. They also provide patients and their families with support, education, and resources. Nurses are crucial in educating patients about treatments, side effects, managing expectations, and answering any other questions patients may have.
The caring and compassionate staff at PMH understands your fears. They can help you through the process and answer all your questions. When you select PMH, you become part of a family…a cancer treatment family that offers extensive support and knowledge to help you and your loved ones cope with and treat the cancer.
