Maternity

Our Family Birthing Center will design your birth experience according to your wishes: from pain control to guests. Our goal is to provide you with a safe delivery and a tailor-made birth experience designed just for you.

PMH is meeting our mission of becoming safer for you in so many ways. In order to provide a safer environment for the babies delivered at PMH, the OB Department is now a locked unit. Visitors are still invited to visit and share your joy with you. To enter they will need to lift the phone handset located directly outside the OB doors. OB staff will answer the call and let them in. PMH is meeting our mission of becoming safer for you in so many ways.

Please come visit the department and meet our nurses to see for yourself, and let us know what is important to you!

A beautifully appointed, private birthing suite is where your family will stay from admission to discharge. With our highly trained, skilled, and family friendly obstetrics nurses, you can rest assured your family is in good hands.

We can also help you and your family for the new arrival:

  • Prenatal and Breast Feeding classes
  • Sibling Classes for the children ages 3 to 10
  • Management of pregnancy related problems
  • Assistance for families through labor and delivery
  • Parental education on the care of your new baby
  • Answers for pregnancy and newborn related questions
  • Infant CPR for parents of premature babies
  • New parents of full-term babies are welcome to attend the hospital's community CPR classes
  • Our local MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) meets every other Wednesday morning. Join them to share the daily adventure of motherhood and meet new friends

Digital prenatal ultrasounds are available for you to print or to email around the world to family and friends.

A lactation consultant, a lactation counselor, or our OB staff are available to assist you with breastfeeding and to answer any questions you may have.

When you go home, an OB nurse visits you at no charge, focusing on mother/baby health and answering your questions.
